George Logan – you wat, you wat

14 10 2008

Here’s a little something for all those aspiring to become photoshop junkies, and if not then just some more cool pictures.

George Logan is a pro photographer based in London. He is very well know in the advertising industry and has worked with companies such as o2, corona, yamaha, shell just to name a few. You may even recognize some of the pictures. Personally I like really like his work and think that because it is so original it is easy to spot, and when it comes down to it thats what sells. Enjoy

Friday Fix

12 10 2008

“Stuck at work pining for the snow? We feel your pain. Every Friday from September through to April, we send out an email to our nearest and dearest, to share a powder-laden picture from the Whitelines archives and give a heads-up on what’s going on in the snowboarding world. Also, new to the Fix this year, is the “Friday Fact” – just some useless trivia to impress your friends with over a pint” -Whitelines magazine

I would just like to recommend friday fix to anybody who is interested in photography or snow. Takes a second to sign up and you get a stunning picture every week for free. If not then then check out freeze frame or some of the photographer portfolio’s for some awesome shots. Links below.

A picture tells a thousand words.

where to go when there’s no snow

12 10 2008

Having received this months issue of Whitelines (http://whitelines.com/). I couldn’t take it any longer. There was only one thing for it . . . Dry-slope. Rossendale has one of the UK’s leading dry-slopes with new technology snowflex. It has a training slope, a freestyle slope, and a large main slope with a quaterpipe. Although it is nothing like the real thing sometimes its all you can get. unfortunately the photo opportunities weren’t amazing due to poor light, but have a goose anyway.

The Etive river race, a very wet weekend

12 10 2008

On the night of the 3rd of October three brave friends set off on what unknown to them would be one of the worst journeys of their life.

Ok it wasnt all as bad as that but it was wet, windy and very dark. perfect scottish photography conditions. Unfortunately due to the poor weather I have no photos of the actual race, having made a personal decision not to take gear out.

However it was not a complete failure as I found one of the nicest fish and chip shops ever.

Some cool ideas to do with framing a cone and a reflection

But at least one of us got some decent shots
